A successful story - That's what describes ICARO.
A few years ago, in 2005, we set the first milestone was achieved with the agreement between the two organizations "Flying-Docs Switzerland" and "VA-Luftrettung" (Germany) to cooperate with each other. Soon after, those two organizations started to co-develop software and tools for the operational parts.
Just a few weeks later, both organizations founded the "ICARO-Group" as a virtual Alliance for virtual Rescue-Operators. "ICARO-Group" as a name was born. While the Website of ICARO was in development, the former "Christophorus VA" from Austria ceased their service in March 2006 and ICARO offered to take over the operational parts. Unfortunately not all of the former Christophorus VA Members were addicted by the way we operated and split up.
Nevertheless, ICARO with it's three founding VAs (Flying-Docs Switzerland, VA-Luftrettung and VA-Heliservice) continued on their plan.
In May 2006 we celebrated our official opening of ICARO with three VAs and more than 140 active members.
Since then we continued to develop our software, tools and set our limits in all belongings higher and higher.
In mid 2009 we successfully rolled out our new training system, IAT - ICARO Aviation Training which offers excessive training for our new and existing members.
5 Years after the first cooperation, we proudly can present our achievments:
